Water ATMs project transforming livelihoods in Nakuru

Due to wastage in using water pipes, four automated water dispensers (ATM) were constructed within Chepkulul locality, including solar powered pump. Currently, the project supports over 2100 people, three primary schools, five ECDE centers, one secondary school, one village polytechnic, and one dispensary.

In addition, the installation of the automated water dispensers known as AQ Tap water dispenser was seen as a solution to end the mismanagement of money collected from selling water. Payment of any amount is made through mobile money services where the card is credited with the amount then a vendor goes to the water ATM and keys in the amount of water he or she needs to fetch.
