The ranking is based upon annual growth rate in revenue between 2013 and 2016 and those that make the list are considered to be at the forefront of European business and innovation.
Azuri ranked 230th on the list, having achieved a 603% revenue growth during the four-year period.
Azuri was the only off-grid solar company listed and the company’s growth can be attributed to the need for affordable, off-grid energy solutions in sub-Saharan Africa. This is a region where 600 million people lack access to reliable energy services and modern devices.
Azuri’s CEO, Simon Bransfield-Garth, comments:
“Azuri continues to go from strength to strength and it’s great to be gaining recognition for our work. This year’s FT 1000 results show that innovative solutions can produce growth and make a real difference to the lives of millions.”
