Remuneration – £28k – 38k FTE depending on experience.

Other Conditions – Contributory pension and generous holiday allowance, rising for every year with the company.

Term: Full-time (4.5 days / 33.75 hours per week), 2-year contract, flexible working patterns.

Location: Edinburgh or London, hybrid working with flexibility around office days and WFH.

Inclusive Energy is looking for a Technical Project Coordinator to support the delivery of innovation projects that will be conducted with partners across Africa, India and the UK from 2023.

We are a venture backed, but mission driven company that enables renewable energy access for off-grid communities, in particular solar electricity and biogas for cooking. We have developed and released two software-hardware products for the off-grid energy sector, mainly in Africa and South Asia, and have customers in over 20 countries. Our products combine remote sensing hardware with sophisticated data platforms, enabling payment, maintenance and carbon reduction reporting services for our customers. Our aim is to enable at least 1 million people to access clean energy over the next five years.

The key activities of the role are:

  • To work closely with our technical managers, operations team and company administration to prepare comprehensive action plans and budgets for projects.
  • Coordinate day to day work on innovation projects.
  • Maintain project documentation and handle financial and technical reporting.
  • Help guide technical work across various engineering disciplines.


To succeed in this role, candidates should have excellent time management and communication skills, as well as technical knowledge and understanding to be able to support technical teams to deliver on time, to budget and to requisite quality.

The candidate should have the following qualities and experience:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Care about the detail
  • Project management experience and ability to work across internal and external teams
  • Experience of working with engineering teams
  • Experience with hardware prototyping and manufacturing (Nice to have)
  • A passion for working on action against climate change and energy poverty (Nice to have)
