As the solar design engineer, you will be responsible for designing commercial-scale solar systems and participating in cutting-edge renewable energy projects. The position requires knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and calculations, with a focus on efficiency and automation. Detailed responsibilities are: –
- Designing commercial-scale solar PV systems
- Ensuring designs are compliant with industry standards and regulations
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success
- You must demonstrate an ability to set and manage budgets for multiple projects at once.
- Developing designs for system sizes between 20 KW to 500 KW is preferred (anything 1+MW is a distinct advantage).
- Conducting solar site assessments/surveys to determine a customer’s suitability for Solar PV solutions.
- Coordinate the deployment of Solar PV and other related projects.
- Handle solar pv systems selection, procurement, installation, and maintenance plans, including the supervision of sub-contractors selected.
Requirements
- First Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of Second Class Upper graduating grade.
- A minimum of three (3) years of working experience in the renewable energy sector.
- Curriculum Vitae detailing similar experience executing at leave five (5) solar projects.
- A registered member of NSE and/or COREN is added advantage.
- Ability to use and good knowledge of energy audit equipment such as energy loggers, power quality analyzer, solar irradiation meters, and digital clamp meters.
- You must have extensive knowledge of PV mounting systems (both rooftop and ground mount systems.
- Knowledge of one or more of the industry standard design platforms would be required, this could include Homer, Helioscope, PVsyst, EasyPV, PV*SOL, etc.
- You must also be comfortable creating and operating under a tight schedule to meet project deadlines while handling several projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in written and spoken English
