AFSIA is the Africa Solar Industry Association.
AFSIA is the reference association for solar professionals in Africa. The association is headquartered in Kigali, Rwanda and carries out solar-related activities and programs across Africa. Its regional coverage stretches from Egypt to South-Africa, from Cape Verde to Madagascar.
AFSIA promotes solar energy in the African region from large scale grid-connected projects to off-grid solar home systems, through hybrid systems including diesel and storage to solar water pumping, solar stoves or solar water heaters.
AFSIA organizes networking opportunities for solar professionals and gives them access to the right information and the right network to expand their business and strengthen the solar industry across the continent.
Description
As a Market Intelligence Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Market Intelligence Manager in monitoring and analyzing solar energy data.
Your primary responsibility will be to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant data on solar projects and industry trends in Africa to assist in the formulation of effective industry insights. Data collection is conducted through a combination of online and offline research methods and tools.
This internship opportunity will provide you with valuable hands-on experience and exposure to the solar industry, enabling you to develop a strong foundation in market research and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and gather data on solar market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies
- Updating information in the company’s market intelligence tools and apps
- Collect and analyze data from various sources, such as market reports, industry publications, and online databases, to identify market opportunities
- Support the development of comprehensive market reports and presentations by organizing data
- Assist in maintaining a database of market intelligence resources and information for easy reference
- Stay updated on industry news, policy changes, and regulatory updates related to the solar energy sector
Qualifications
- Fresh graduate from a bachelor’s or master’s degree
- Demonstrated knowledge of or interest for the solar industry, specific knowledge in 1 segment of the industry is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources
- Strong affinity for reading
- Familiarity with research methodologies and tools
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Passionate about renewable energy and the solar industry
- Prior experience or coursework in market research or data analysis is a plus
- Excellent English, both written and spoken. French language is a plus
